광융합 산업의 현재와 미래를 볼 수 있는 전시회가 광주에서 열렸다.
광주시는 광융합 기술과 제품을 한자리에서 볼 수 있는 국내 최대 규모 ‘제21회 국제광융합산업전시회’가 15일 김대중컨벤션센터에서 개막해 이틀간의 일정에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
이날 개막식은 강기정 광주광역시장, 이형석 국회의원, 주기환 국민의힘 광주광역시당위원장, 김나윤·홍기월·김용임·임미란 시의원, 정철동 한국광융합산업진흥회 회장, 기업대표 및 유관기관, 우즈베키스탄 과학기술정보센터 및 베트남·필리핀·페루·일본 등 해외바이어가 대거 참석했다.
강기정 광주시장은 “광주는 다른 지역이 섬유산업을 택할 때 광산업에 집중했고 다른 지역이 SOC사업에 몰두할 때 인공지능산업에 주목했다. 인공지능과 광산업을 접목한 광융합산업은 이제 광주의 9대대표산업으로 고도화하고 있다”며 “이번 전시에서 광주가 지난 20여년간 쌓아온 광산업의 역사와 혁신적인 광융합기술을 눈으로 보고 확인할 수 있을 것이다”고 말했다.
이어 “국가인공지능(AI)데이터센터 서비스를 시작한 만큼 인공지능(AI)과 접목한 광융합산업은 제2의 부흥기를 맞이할 것이다”며 “이제는 광산업에 인공지능(AI), 자율주행차 등 새로운 산업을 더해 광융합산업 중심도시로 도약시키겠다”고 말했다.
강 시장은 한국광기술원 최주현 센터장, 광주테크노파크 박동환 선임, 에스모듈 이민오 대표와 기관 2곳 ‘오이솔루션’, ‘프로’에 각각 표창을 수여했다.
강 시장은 한국전자통신연구원·키엘연구원·한국광기술원·엘지(LG)이노텍·트로닉스·옵토닉스·에스앤엠메디칼·오이솔루션 부스를 방문, 광융합산업의 신기술·우수제품을 살펴봤다.
개막식에는 참가 기업들의 수출계약도 잇따랐다.
광주지역 기업인 ㈜트로닉스가 우즈베키스탄 치르치크시에 스마트가로등 사물인터텟(IoT) 기반의 공공조명 관리시스템 납품 1000만달러 수출계약을 체결했다. ㈜에이팩은 일본 스위코 탑라인과 300만달러 대마 재배시스템 수출계약을 맺었고, ㈜다온씨앤티와 ㈜옵토마린은 일본 리스단 케미컬과 150만달러 지온 습도 광학센서 수출계약을 체결했다.
‘호모포토닉스, 빛이 내 삶을 홀리다’를 주제로 한 이번 전시는 121개 기업·기관, 15개국 해외바이어 100여 명이 참여한다.
광주시는 광융합산업을 광주 9대 대표산업으로 키우고 있는 가운데 2001년 제1회 국제광산업전시회를 시작으로 21년간의 역사를 축적, 국내 유일 광융합산업 전문전시회로 자리매김했다.

특히 이번 전시회는 광산업 기업들의 다양한 광융합 신기술의 장이 열린다.
LG이노텍은 미래 모빌리티산업의 핵심부품인 자율주행차 및 메티버스용 카메라모듈을 선보인다. 그린광학은 인공위성용 카메라렌즈, 옵토닉스는 초고령사회로의 진입에 대비한 보행분석시스템 등 광융합제품을 전시한다. 이밖에도 121여개의 유망기업과 지원기관이 참여해 다양한 신기술·신제품을 접할 수 있다.
이와 함께 15개국 100여 명의 바이어를 초청해 수출상담회를 진행, 국내 기업 해외 진출과 이익 창출을 모색하는 비즈니스장도 마련된다.
